Experience the charm of San Antonio with a visit to our newest location in the vibrant Alta Vista neighborhood.

Located just off W Woodlawn Avenue, a vibrant thoroughfare, our establishment at 2810 North Flores Street promises to enhance the vitality of a rapidly expanding neighborhood steeped in history and community spirit. Originally erected in 1927 as the North Side Community Center, this building has served as a hub for various enterprises over the years, including, drugstore, meat market, delicatessen, and grocery store. It later housed iconic establishments like Piggly Wiggly (No. 28) and served as a gathering place for the Free-Mason’s community lodge. We are thrilled to honor this rich heritage and evoke a sense of nostalgia by preserving the building's legacy while infusing it with a fresh, market-inspired ambiance.

AOC San Antonio

Art of Cellaring transcends the typical wine storage model by offering not just a secure, climate-controlled facility equipped with a backup generator for wine preservation, but also by fostering a community around the joy of wine.

Emphasizing that wine is a catalyst for fun and invaluable connections, Art of Cellaring is dedicated to creating spaces and opportunities for individuals to meet, connect, learn about, appreciate, and share wine, underlining the belief that wine is more than just a beverage—it's a medium for bonding and shared experiences.

Joshua Thomas

Upon his return to San Antonio, Joshua launched Maverick Texas Brasserie in the winter of 2018. The establishment swiftly garnered attention for its meticulously curated wine selection, earning accolades from Wine Enthusiast, which featured Maverick in its prestigious Top 100 list of wine destinations in the U.S. for 2019, and from Texas Monthly, which lauded it for boasting one of the state's premier wine programs in 2020.

In the wake of the pandemic, Joshua made a deliberate shift away from the restaurant scene to prioritize his family. Joining WineBid as a Consignment Director for the South Central U.S., Joshua's extensive travels to various storage facilities across Texas and the Southern region led to a revelation: San Antonio lacked a specialized wine storage community. Collaborating with AOC Houston's team, Joshua found an ideal partnership to fill this void. His commitment to enriching San Antonio's wine culture remains steadfast, as he continually explores avenues to introduce "The good juice" to the local community.

With a rich background in culinary arts and certification as a wine educator from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), Joshua's journey into the world of wine is punctuated by notable achievements. He holds an International Sommelier Guild Diploma and has successfully navigated the Court of Master Sommeliers' Advanced exam. Joshua's expertise has garnered national recognition, earning him the title of one of the "Best New Sommeliers" in the United States by Wine & Spirits Magazine in 2013.
